Job Description

Sea Mar Community Health Centers is a well-established Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) created in 1978, dedicated to providing quality healthcare and comprehensive services to diverse communities in Washington State. The organization primarily focuses on serving Latino populations but proudly welcomes and serves individuals of all races, ethnicities, immigration statuses, genders, sexual orientations, and abilities to pay. With a network consisting of more than 90 medical, dental, and behavioral health clinics, alongside nutritional, social, and educational programs, Sea Mar is a pillar of community support and healthcare access in the region. The center's mission emphasizes inclusivity, cultural sensitivity, and removing barriers to care for underserved populations, ensuring that all patients receive compassionate and accessible health services.

The Front Desk Receptionist role at Sea Mar Community Health Centers is vital as the first point of contact for patients and visitors. This position is hourly with a starting wage of $21.30 and follows a Monday through Friday schedule, which may be adjusted based on organizational needs. The receptionist supports the clinic’s daily front office operations and patient flow, making a significant contribution to creating a welcoming and efficient environment. Responsibilities include greeting and checking in patients, answering multi-line phones, handling appointment scheduling, and processing patient payments with accuracy. This role also includes assisting patients with necessary forms, services, and referrals to community resources, supporting the clinic’s mission of comprehensive care.

Successful candidates will find themselves working in a fast-paced clinic environment that values excellent customer service, strong communication skills, and organizational abilities. Bilingual English/Spanish proficiency is highly preferred, reflecting Sea Mar's commitment to serving its multicultural community effectively. The receptionist will also support clinical staff by helping to address clinical quality measure gaps to enhance patient outcomes. Maintaining a clean and organized front desk and waiting area is part of ensuring a pleasant patient experience. Working at Sea Mar offers more than a job; it offers a fulfilling career in a culturally diverse setting with opportunities for professional growth and advancement. In addition to competitive pay, Sea Mar provides a generous benefits package for full-time employees, including medical, dental, vision, prescription coverage, life insurance, long-term disability, an employee assistance program (EAP), paid time off, and retirement options, underscoring the value they place on employee well-being and satisfaction.

Joining Sea Mar means becoming part of an organization with a longstanding commitment to health equity, community empowerment, and cultural competency. The Front Desk Receptionist position is crucial in supporting this mission by being the welcoming face that facilitates patient access to high-quality care and community resources. This role offers an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about healthcare, community service, and making a tangible difference in underserved populations.
