Sea Mar Community Health Centers is a well-established Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) founded in 1978, dedicated to serving the diverse populations in Washington State with a strong focus on the Latino community. The Receptionist role at Sea Mar is a vital front-line position ensuring a welcoming and supportive environment for all visitors and callers. Job Requirements

  • High school education required
  • No professional certifications required
  • Customer service/general front desk training preferred
  • Must take and pass an annual TB test
  • Annual influenza vaccine required or approved medical/religious exemption with mask wearing
  • Must sign an oath of permanent confidentiality covering all patient related information
  • Must comply with all ethical standards of Sea Mar
  • Must complete an annual competency test as a receptionist
  • No history or evidence of alcohol or other drug misuse for three years prior to employment and none while employed at the center

Job Qualifications

  • Good communication (written and verbal) and organizational skills
  • Experience with word processing and spreadsheets desired
  • Sensitive to client needs (mental health/substance abuse)
  • Bilingual Spanish/English with demonstrated writing and speaking fluency
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

Job Duties

  • Responds to telephone calls professionally by directing callers to appropriate staff members or by taking written messages
  • Responds to visitors politely and professionally by directing callers to appropriate staff members and/or locations
  • Handles all oral and written tasks in fluent English or fluent Spanish, as appropriate to individual tasks
  • Provides helpful, efficient clerical support to administrative personnel including typing word processing and spreadsheets
  • Receives incoming mail, stamps exterior of all incoming mail, opens and stamps specified types of mail including accounts payable, weighs and places correct postage on outgoing business mail
  • Assists with receiving deliveries of supplies
  • Performs other duties assigned by supervisor
