Job Description

Sea Mar Community Health Centers is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) established in 1978, dedicated to providing comprehensive health, human, housing, educational, and cultural services to diverse communities, with a special focus on serving Latino populations in Washington State. As a community-based organization, Sea Mar prides itself on its inclusive approach, serving all individuals regardless of race, ethnicity, immigration status, gender, sexual orientation, or ability to pay for services. The organization operates an extensive network of over 90 clinics offering medical, dental, and behavioral health services, complemented by a broad array of nutritional, social, and educational programs. This robust infrastructure highlights Sea Mar's commitment to delivering high-quality, accessible care and support tailored to the unique needs of its community members.

The role of Receptionist at Sea Mar Community Health Centers is an essential position dedicated to maintaining the welcoming and efficient operation of the facility’s front office. This role involves professionally greeting and assisting all visitors and callers, ensuring they are directed to the appropriate staff or departments. The Receptionist provides critical administrative and clerical support, such as managing telephone communications, handling mail, assisting with supply deliveries, and supporting administrative personnel with typing and spreadsheet tasks. The Receptionist often works in a bilingual context, requiring fluency in English and Spanish to effectively communicate with a diverse client base.

Sea Mar fosters a mission-driven working environment grounded in values such as respect, integrity, compassion, social justice, and continuous learning. Employees in this role embody these principles by understanding and empathizing with client needs, exceeding expectations, and enhancing the dignity and self-worth of those they serve. The organization places a strong emphasis on ethical conduct, confidentiality, and adherence to safety protocols, including mandatory COVID-19 and flu vaccinations unless exemptions are granted. Sea Mar also supports career growth and offers a comprehensive benefits package for full-time employees working 30 hours or more, making it a rewarding place to build a fulfilling career.

Specifically, the Receptionist is responsible for handling a variety of daily tasks such as answering phones, greeting visitors, managing correspondence, and ensuring a smooth flow of communication within the facility. This position requires highly developed communication skills in both spoken and written English and Spanish, proficiency in office technology, and the ability to work efficiently under the demands of a busy healthcare setting. The work environment is moderately noisy and involves physical activities including standing, walking, and occasional lifting, with accommodations provided for individuals with disabilities.

This position offers a competitive hourly wage of $21.30 and is classified under an hourly employment plan. Sea Mar encourages a diverse workforce and is an equal opportunity employer, committed to social justice and health equity. Job seekers who are passionate about working in a culturally diverse community health setting and committed to providing excellent client service are encouraged to apply.
