Job Description
Conviva Senior Primary Care is a premier healthcare provider specializing in proactive and preventive care tailored specifically for seniors. The organization is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for its patients by focusing on comprehensive health management including wellness visits, physical exams, chronic condition management, screenings, and treatment of minor injuries. Conviva is part of Humana’s expansive Primary Care Organization which also includes CenterWell Senior Primary Care. This association enables Conviva to leverage innovative, value-based healthcare approaches, ensuring that every patient receives timely, cost-effective care. Their commitment extends beyond physical health to encompass social, emotional, behavioral, and financial well-being, recognizing these factors significantly impact overall patient health. CenterWell, a Humana company, operates as a leading healthcare services enterprise that strives to deliver high-quality, integrated, and personalized healthcare experiences. The company's service range includes senior-focused primary care, home healthcare, hospice, specialty, retail pharmacy, and home delivery services, all designed to promote whole-person health.
The role of Medical Assistant at Conviva Senior Primary Care represents a critical position within this healthcare ecosystem. The Medical Assistant acts as the first point of patient contact, managing a blend of administrative and clinical responsibilities. This patient-facing role is essential for ensuring efficient patient flow and comprehensive care delivery. The position requires versatility in performing various clinical tasks such as documenting patient symptoms in electronic medical records, taking and recording vital signs, administering injections, conducting diagnostic tests, collecting specimens and blood draws, sterilizing equipment, and maintaining examination rooms. Additionally, this role involves moderately complex operational and customer support assignments, including completing computations and reporting to the Center Administrator.
This full-time position, scheduled from Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, offers a competitive salary range of $38,000 to $45,800 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. There is also a $1000 sign-on bonus available after 120 days of employment, enhancing the financial incentives for joining the team. Applicants must be bilingual in English and Spanish and hold certification or have completed a Medical Assistant training program, or possess over five years of relevant experience with provider approval. The role requires phlebotomy and medication/vaccine administration experience and CPR certification. Participation in the company's tuberculosis screening program is mandatory, reflecting the role's direct involvement with patient care.
Humana, Inc., and its subsidiaries offer a competitive benefits package that supports the whole well-being of their associates. These benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) retirement savings plan, paid time off, including holidays and parental leave, short-term and long-term disability coverage, and life insurance. Humana's policies emphasize equal employment opportunities and affirmative action to promote an inclusive workplace that values diversity and does not discriminate based on race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, marital status, genetic information, disability, or veteran status.
