The Receptionist role at West Wichita Family Physicians is a full-time position integral to the daily operations and patient experience at the clinic. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for patients, responsible for ensuring smooth and courteous interactions, maintaining patient records, and assisting various departments including Minor Care and the Women’s Center. This position operates Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm, with occasional requirements for hours beyond typical business times. The Receptionist will manage essential administrative duties such as scheduling appointments, collecting payments, documenting changes in electronic medical records (EMR), answering phone inquiries, and maintaining confidentiality with sensitive patient information. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. - High school diploma or equivalent
- previous experience in a clinic setting preferred
- ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, staff, and others involved with patient care

Job Duties
- Assists in other reception areas, Minor Care and Women’s Center as needed, directed and trained
- maintains work area and lobby
- attend meetings as required
- occasional work hours outside 8:00 to 5:00, as requested
- performs related work as assigned by Patient Relations Manager or designee
- greets patients in a prompt and courteous manner
- obtains pertinent patient information, scans insurance cards, and updates records accordingly
- documents changes in EMR chart
- answer internal telephone and provides basic information
- locates samples and written prescriptions for patient pick-up
- collects co-pays and payments
- performs closing functions per departmental guidelines
- maintains patient and clinic confidentiality
- schedules follow-up and office visit appointments as needed
