Job Description

We are currently seeking a Receptionist to join our team. This full-time or part-time position is pivotal in creating a positive first impression for all residents, family members, applicants, visitors, vendors, and team members who enter the community. The Receptionist acts as the welcoming face and voice of Bethesda Senior Living Communities, ensuring every interaction is marked by courtesy, warmth, professionalism, and attentive customer service. This role requires proficiency in managing a multi-line telephone system, distributing mail, maintaining office supply inventory, and assisting management with various administrative tasks. Additionally, the Receptionist supports dining service coordination by communicating with Culinary staff and assisting in meal service preparations when needed.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to work independently while effectively managing the demands of a fast-paced, open office environment. They must possess strong communication skills, a pleasant demeanor, and the ability to handle stressful situations with composure and efficiency. Job Duties

  • manages a multi-line telephone system by answering calls in a timely manner, relaying messages accurately and in a courteous, customer friendly manner
  • provides a positive first impression of the community to all customers
  • distributes and sends mail and faxes
  • maintains inventory of office supplies
  • assists managers in special projects and mailings as requested
  • assists executive director and business office manager as needed
  • maintains confidentiality of residents' personal information in and out of the community and protects and supports residents' rights
  • maintains a professional appearance and demeanor that encourages a positive nurturing environment for the residents, families, vendors, and guests
  • maintains a positive customer service environment and practices honesty and integrity in all aspects of performance
  • ensures adequate daily coverage for meal service by communicating with the culinary services director and/or host/hostess, to include taking resident orders for meals, providing drink refills according to residents' / guests' requests, assists with the cleaning, resetting and preparation of the dining room in-between mealtimes
  • performs all other duties as assigned or required
