Job Description
The Union Street Clubhouse is a community-focused organization dedicated to providing a safe, engaging, and supportive environment for youth and families. Known for its commitment to personal growth, educational support, and recreational activities, the Clubhouse fosters a welcoming space where members can thrive. It operates under the Boys & Girls Clubs model, which is recognized nationally for nurturing young individuals through a range of programs that promote leadership, academic achievement, and healthy lifestyles.
The Union Street Clubhouse is currently seeking a Receptionist to serve as the essential first point of contact for members, parents, visitors, and guests. This role is pivotal in ensuring a smooth and positive experience at the front desk, which includes managing check-in and check-out procedures, supporting membership applications, and assisting with program fee collections. This part-time position (32 hours per week) is Monday through Friday, from 2 PM to 8 PM, and is benefit-eligible, reflecting the organization's commitment to employee welfare.
The Receptionist plays a critical role in maintaining the Clubhouse’s professional and welcoming atmosphere. Responsibilities extend beyond typical clerical tasks; the receptionist assists with distributing membership and program information, conducting tours, answering phones, and supporting evening staff through training. The role demands strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and an ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations. The ideal candidate will be proficient in Microsoft Office, possess basic math skills for handling cash and reconciliations, and be bi-lingual to better serve the community’s needs.
This position also requires adaptability and the ability to maintain composure in high-energy or high-stress situations, as well as flexibility to work additional hours during special events, summer camps, or school vacations. Physical demands include lifting moderately heavy equipment, moving through various indoor and outdoor environments, and operating standard office equipment. Safety, professionalism, and customer service excellence are paramount in this role, which directly impacts the Clubhouse’s reputation and the members’ overall experience.
Joining the Union Street Clubhouse as a Receptionist means becoming part of a dedicated team committed to empowering youth. The role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking a dynamic work environment in a supportive community setting, with the added benefit of a comprehensive package including medical, dental, vision insurance, retirement plan with employer match, and generous paid time off. The position encourages personal growth and development while contributing to a meaningful cause.
