Job Description
Universal Health Services, Inc. (UHS) is one of the nation's largest and most respected providers of hospital and healthcare services. Established as a Fortune 500 corporation, UHS has achieved consistent growth over the years with annual revenues reaching $15.8 billion in 2024. Headquartered in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, UHS employs approximately 99,000 dedicated professionals across a broad network. This network includes acute care hospitals, behavioral health facilities, outpatient centers, ambulatory care access points, insurance providers, and physician networks. UHS operates throughout the United States, Washington D.C., Puerto Rico, and the United Kingdom, demonstrating a broad commitment to healthcare across diverse regions and communities.
At UHS, diversity, equity, and inclusion are fundamental values that support the company’s success. The organization fosters an environment of mutual respect, offering equal employment opportunities without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex (including pregnancy, gender identity, and sexual orientation), genetic information, national origin, disability status, veteran status, or any other category protected by law. Candidates and employees alike are assured a supportive and fair workplace where their contributions are valued as part of a larger mission to improve patient outcomes.
Cedar Ridge Behavioral Hospital at Bethany, one of UHS's specialized behavioral health facilities, is a 56-bed psychiatric hospital focused on adult behavioral health programs. The hospital provides critical crisis stabilization, medication management, and therapy for patients facing serious mental health disorders such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, paranoia, and schizophrenia. It offers a safe and secure environment for individuals experiencing suicidal or homicidal thoughts, helping them regain stability and self-worth. The adult inpatient program targets individuals over 18 years old with severe mental illness affecting their daily functioning.
The role of Receptionist at Cedar Ridge Behavioral Hospital is crucial in maintaining a welcoming and professional front desk environment. The Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for patients, family members, and visitors, ensuring all clinical and non-clinical interactions are handled with empathy and respect. The position involves greeting all visitors warmly, responding to telephone inquiries courteously and professionally, and directing individuals to appropriate areas based on their needs. In addition to patient-facing duties, the Receptionist provides essential clerical support to the management team, helping with administrative tasks that keep the facility running smoothly.
This full-time position generally operates Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., with additional shifts as needed. A reliable, compassionate, and dependable individual is sought for this role—someone who can manage multiple priorities simultaneously while maintaining confidentiality of sensitive facility information. Successful candidates must meet age and educational requirements, pass a drug test and a national background check, and demonstrate excellent customer service skills along with basic computer competency.
Working at Cedar Ridge Behavioral Hospital offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference within a specialized mental health setting under the umbrella of UHS, providing both stability and professional growth potential. The role is ideally suited for applicants who seek a rewarding career at the intersection of healthcare, administration, and compassionate service, with the backing of one of the largest and most reputable healthcare systems in the country.
