Position Overview: The Receptionist position at Mitchell Williams serves as the first point of contact for clients and visitors. This vital role requires professionalism, courtesy, and efficiency in managing the firm’s front desk operations. The receptionist is responsible for greeting and directing visitors, managing incoming calls via the switchboard, scheduling conference room use, and maintaining appointment logs and firm-wide event calendars. Additional clerical tasks, such as typing labels and envelopes, selling postage stamps, and logging deliveries, are also part of the role, contributing to the smooth functioning of the office.

Working under the supervision of the Administrative Director, the receptionist interacts regularly with attorneys, legal staff, clients, and vendors, requiring excellent communication and organizational skills. This role demands versatility to handle multiple responsibilities daily and ensures a welcoming environment aligned with the firm’s commitment to exceptional client service.

This full-time position is essential for maintaining efficient office operations and supports the firm’s goal to provide a positive and professional atmosphere. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of experience as a receptionist or switchboard operator, a typing speed of 40 words per minute, and the ability to operate standard office equipment comfortably. Job Duties

  • Greeting and directing clients and other visitors to the firm
  • Answering and routing all incoming calls through the switchboard

  • Maintaining a log of appointments and activities for the firm and preparing a monthly calendar of these events for firm-wide distribution
  • Performing routine clerical duties such as typing labels, envelopes, selling postage stamps, and logging all incoming deliveries
  • Performing other duties as required
