The Receptionist position at Mitchell, Williams, Selig, Gates & Woodyard, P.L.L.C. plays a vital role as the first point of contact for clients and visitors. Reporting to the Administrative Director, the receptionist is tasked with welcoming and directing visitors, ensuring they reach the appropriate staff or attorney seamlessly. This front-facing role requires a professional demeanor combined with excellent communication skills, as the receptionist manages the firm's switchboard, answering and routing incoming calls efficiently. In addition to handling telephone communications, the receptionist schedules conference room usage and maintains accurate logs of appointments and firm-wide events, preparing monthly calendars for distribution to all staff members.
This position includes routine clerical duties such as typing labels and envelopes, selling postage stamps, and managing incoming deliveries. The role demands versatility and strong organizational skills to support smooth daily operations within the firm. A key requirement is the ability to operate standard office equipment and demonstrate a typing speed of at least 40 words per minute. Candidates for this role should possess at least one year of prior experience as a receptionist or switchboard operator.
