The role of a Receptionist at Mission Dental Group is vital in ensuring a seamless and positive experience for every patient and guest. This position requires a professional, friendly, and hospitable demeanor to welcome patients both in person and over the phone. The Receptionist plays a key role in supporting the Perfect Patient Experience (PPE) and creating Patients for Life (PFL) by fostering strong connections with patients from the moment they arrive. Responsibilities include assisting with patient scheduling to ensure smooth and productive healthcare provider days, communicating effectively with patients and guests in the reception area, and managing phone calls with efficiency and thoroughness. The Receptionist is also responsible for ensuring the completion of daily front office tasks, posting payments accurately, and maintaining up-to-date patient information within the practice management system. This role demands efficiency in patient check-in processes, confirming appointments in line with office policies, and timely management of patient messages. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Prior coursework or training in dentistry, insurance, or business preferred
- Knowledge of office practices, technology applications, and patient insurances
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality with patient records
- Self-motivated and reliable

Job Duties
- Model company culture, values, standards and best operational practices based on the We Believe Behavioral Framework
- Support the Perfect Patient Experience process by helping to get patients into the office and ensuring they are comfortable during their visit
- Schedule appointments to ensure a smooth, productive day for healthcare providers
- Interact and communicate with patients and guests in the reception area during their wait time
- Answer telephones in a timely manner and handle calls efficiently and thoroughly
- Ensure all tasks on the front office checklist are completed daily
- Post payments to patient accounts according to company policies
- Serve as a subject matter expert in practice management systems for patient registration and check-in
- Efficiently check in patients, obtain necessary consents, and notify back office of patient arrival
- Confirm all patient appointments according to office policies at least two days in advance
- Return and resolve patient messages received from the Contact Center in a timely manner
- Participate actively in daily morning huddles, monthly team meetings, and other required meetings
- Understand business imperatives and how the role impacts metrics
- Demonstrate stewardship of the PDS Brand by making consistent brand-aligned decisions
- Support clinician efforts on patient education about the Mouth-Body Connection
- Maintain professional appearance and demeanor
- Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant regulatory bodies
- Perform other duties as assigned
