Job Description
This job opportunity is with a healthcare facility that operates under the Life Care brand, which is known for providing high-quality post-acute care services. Life Care facilities specialize in delivering comprehensive healthcare focused on rehabilitation and recovery, catering to patients who require extended medical and rehabilitative support after hospital discharge. As a trusted name in the healthcare industry, Life Care is committed to maintaining the highest standards of patient safety, quality care, and adherence to regulatory protocols. This particular role is part-time and offers a PRN (pro re nata) employment type, meaning the employee works on an as-needed basis, providing valuable staffing flexibility for the facility. The position is primarily on the night shift and requires flexibility and a willingness to take on additional shifts when available, making it ideal for individuals seeking variable hours and work-life balance.
The role of the Receptionist at this facility is pivotal in ensuring smooth, efficient frontline operations by delivering clerical support while serving as the first point of contact for visitors and patients both in person and via telephone. The Receptionist embodies the face of the facility, greeting guests warmly and professionally, providing essential information, and supporting seamless communication within the care environment. This involves managing multi-line phone systems and a paging system, managing visitor flow, and supporting overall patient and visitor satisfaction.
In addition to administrative duties, the Receptionist is expected to uphold the facility's policies and standards, including patient rights, safety, sanitation, confidentiality, and regulatory compliance. This role requires someone who is skilled in office software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and email, equipped to make independent decisions, and knowledgeable about post-acute care practices and regulations. The Receptionist must maintain professional relationships with all associates and vendors while safeguarding proprietary and confidential information.
This job requires an individual with strong integrity and professionalism who adheres to Life Care's Code of Conduct and completes mandatory training on ethics and compliance. Besides administrative tasks, the Receptionist plays a supportive role in patient safety by assisting with evacuation procedures when necessary. A successful candidate exhibits excellent customer service, a positive demeanor, reliability, sound judgment, and can effectively communicate and collaborate within an interdisciplinary team.
Physical requirements of the role include the ability to sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach, and move intermittently during shifts, alongside the ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English effectively. Overall, the Receptionist is an integral member of the healthcare team, contributing significantly to operational excellence and patient experience enhancement.
