The Diabetes Research Institute at the University of Miami presents an exciting opportunity for a Receptionist to join its dynamic team on a full-time basis. This role is pivotal in maintaining an efficient, welcoming, and professional atmosphere that reflects the university’s commitment to exceptional service and care. The Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for visitors, including vendors, customers, patients, staff, and students, greeting them warmly either in person or over the telephone. They are responsible for answering inquiries, providing information, and directing enquiries to appropriate personnel, ensuring smooth communication within the department. This position requires exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, a professional demeanor, and the ability to manage multiple administrative tasks effectively. Responsibilities include answering incoming and placing outgoing calls promptly, addressing routine questions, and routing non-routine requests to the correct department staff. Additionally, the Receptionist assists with administrative tasks such as sorting mail, handling faxes, maintaining cleanliness and order in the reception area, maintaining departmental directories and visitation logs, and managing supply orders as requested by department leadership. Adherence to university policies and careful safeguarding of university assets are critical components of this role.
