Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior experience in customer service or administrative roles preferred
  • ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently
  • proficiency in operating telephone and paging systems
  • strong interpersonal skills
  • ability to maintain confidentiality
  • physical capability to perform duties including standing or walking for extended periods
  • commitment to facility policies and resident care standards

  • Organized and detailed in work performance
  • good communication skills with excellent self-discipline and patience
  • genuine caring and interest in elderly and disabled people in a nursing facility
  • comply with residents' rights and facility policies and procedures
  • perform essential duties as outlined
  • familiarity with safety and confidentiality requirements

Job Duties

  • Manage the telephone and switchboard
  • operate paging and telephone systems as required
  • answer calls promptly and courteously
  • direct calls accurately
  • assist visitors upon arrival by greeting them courteously
  • provide directions or contact staff for visitors
  • ensure all visitors and vendors sign in
  • demonstrate customer service skills via phone and in person including smiling and greeting effectively
  • maintain a neat and orderly work area
  • perform other clerical duties such as mail handling, filing, preparing informational packets, ordering supplies
  • assist with administrative duties including data entry and posting accounts
  • attend in-service education programs
  • maintain awareness of safety procedures and confidentiality
  • protect residents from neglect and abuse
  • perform additional tasks as directed by supervisor or administrator
