Job Description
Copper Springs is a distinguished behavioral health hospital located in Avondale, Arizona, serving the greater Phoenix metro area. As part of Lifepoint Health, a diversified healthcare delivery network with facilities across the United States, Copper Springs is dedicated to providing comprehensive, compassionate care for individuals facing mental health and addiction challenges. The hospital offers various inpatient and outpatient programs tailored to meet the unique needs of adolescents and adults, including specialized services for active-duty military personnel, veterans, first responders, and other high-risk frontline professionals. Programs available at Copper Springs include inpatient mental health and addiction treatment, Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP), Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP), and the Help for Heroes® initiative—demonstrating a commitment to advanced therapeutic services that support recovery and well-being.
Joining Copper Springs means becoming part of the Lifepoint Health family, where the core mission centers around prioritizing the well-being of employees to enable them to deliver exceptional patient care. The organization fosters a work environment that values teamwork, positive communication, and professional growth, making it an ideal setting for individuals passionate about making a meaningful impact in behavioral health. Employment with Copper Springs offers a full-time role with a structured Monday through Friday schedule, from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, promoting work-life balance while supporting hospital operations.
The Receptionist role at Copper Springs is vital in creating a welcoming and supportive atmosphere for patients, guests, and hospital staff. Positioned within the intake department, receptionists are responsible for providing front-line support by greeting guests, managing incoming calls, routing visitors appropriately, and executing essential clerical tasks such as typing, filing, and message taking. This position plays a crucial part in facilitating smooth hospital operations by maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations and ensuring the privacy and confidentiality of patient information.
Receptionists collaborate closely with departments such as Business Development and Assessment to assist with patient admission procedures, including helping to obtain vital signs when requested. Exceptional customer service skills are paramount, as receptionists frequently interact with patients, visitors, licensed practitioners, and co-workers, always prioritizing courteous and efficient communication. Furthermore, this role requires a thorough understanding of hospital emergency procedures to accurately and promptly communicate emergency codes through the speaker system.
Beyond administrative and clerical responsibilities, receptionists contribute to the overall patient experience by maintaining a clean and welcoming lobby environment, ensuring refreshments are available, and supporting special projects and community engagement efforts with the Business Development and Community Relations departments. Flexibility in work hours and the ability to maintain professionalism under stress are important attributes for success in this role.
Copper Springs values education and prior experience in healthcare, preferring candidates with a high school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree is advantageous. Candidates must possess strong critical thinking abilities, decisive judgment, and the capacity to operate independently in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment. This role is an excellent opportunity for those seeking to strengthen their skills in patient management interventions while contributing meaningfully to a compassionate healthcare community.
Benefits at Copper Springs are designed to support employee well-being and career growth, including comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance options, life and disability coverage, paid time off, tuition assistance programs, and mental and physical wellness initiatives. Employees are encouraged to pursue ongoing professional development within an organization committed to equal employment opportunity and fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace. If you are motivated to join a progressive team dedicated to improving the lives of individuals through behavioral health services, Copper Springs offers a fulfilling and supportive environment to advance your career and make a lasting impact.
