The role of Receptionist at Gordon Food Service is a crucial frontline position, acting as the face and voice of the company to visitors and callers alike. As the first point of contact, the receptionist plays a key role in maintaining a professional and welcoming atmosphere in the reception area. This position involves greeting visitors, handling inbound calls, and providing administrative support to various departments including Office Services and Human Resources. Job Requirements
- At least one year of experience in an administrative, clerical, or customer-facing role
- Two or more years of dedicated receptionist or switchboard experience is strongly preferred
- High school diploma is required
- Strong proficiency in Google Workspace or Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent communication skills for phone and in-person interaction
- Ability to work Monday through Friday with rotating Friday shifts

Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Maintain a professional atmosphere in the reception lobby while working cooperatively and courteously with all visitors
- Greet and receive visitors, determine the nature of business and answer questions or give instructions
- Assist visitors with special assistance requests
- Serve as a liaison for employees with forwarding Rightfaxes, general business inquiries, scheduling, and provisioning of services and facilities
- Answer and screen incoming calls, determine intent and purpose of calls, and forward callers to appropriate personnel or department
- Provide support with projects and tasks as needed for the Office Services and Human Resources departments
- Maintain knowledge and follow best practices of GFS security, safety procedures and physical access safeguards
