Flagstaff Academy is part of the St. Vrain Valley School District and is operated by a board of directors comprised of parents and community members. The school prides itself on being Longmont's premier science and technology institution, fostering an environment that encourages students to excel academically and creatively.

The mission of Flagstaff Academy is to develop well-rounded, ethical leaders equipped to thrive in the global community, grounded firmly in science and technology principles. The school holds several guiding principles, including providing a challenging Core Knowledge-based curriculum, promoting academic achievement and creativity, respecting individuals and the broader community, and embracing academic diversity. With a student body of approximately 800 students, Flagstaff Academy continuously pursues excellence in education and employee development.

For the 2026-27 school year, Flagstaff Academy is seeking a Receptionist to join its front office team. This position offers an hourly wage in the range of $19 to $27, depending on qualifications, skills, and experience. The Receptionist plays a crucial role as the primary customer service point of contact for visitors and callers. Responsible for assisting with all front office operations, this role supports purchasing, receiving, and volunteer coordination within the school building.

The ideal candidate will embody enthusiasm and excellent customer service skills, greeting students, staff, and families while embracing the school’s motto where "science and technology take flight." They should have a friendly and outgoing personality and enjoy interacting with the public. Key skills include communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, an ability to multitask and handle details efficiently, and proficiency with basic office equipment such as scanners, copiers, and label printers. Familiarity with Gmail, Google Apps, and spreadsheet software is expected, and experience with Infinite Campus software is desired.

In addition to managing phone calls and greeting visitors, the Receptionist will coordinate volunteer activities, maintain a neat and organized reception area, assist with safety protocols, sort and distribute mail, and support driveline facilitation during drop-off and pick-up times. The role also involves assisting with ordering and purchasing tasks and performing other duties as assigned, all within a fast-paced environment that values efficiency and productivity.

Flagstaff Academy offers an extensive benefits package, including multiple healthcare plans with prescription coverage, dental and vision insurance, flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts, and contributions to retirement through PERA. Additional benefits include life and short-term disability insurance, paid time off based on service years, free childcare through the Dragon Flight program, and a robust employee appreciation program throughout the school year. There are also options for voluntary retirement plans, supplemental life insurance, long-term disability, Aflac plans, and identity theft protection. This comprehensive package reflects Flagstaff Academy's commitment to supporting its staff’s health, well-being, and financial security.

Working at Flagstaff Academy means being part of a community dedicated to academic excellence and innovation rooted in science and technology. The school welcomes employees who are committed to the mission and values, providing a dynamic, supportive, and engaging work environment.
