Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum five years office experience preferably in medical setting
  • Ability to sit for long periods
  • Able to stoop, bend and stretch for files and supplies
  • Occasionally lift up to 30 pounds
  • Manual dexterity to operate office equipment
  • Correctable vision to 20/20
  • Normal hearing for telephone contacts
  • Ability to view and type on computer screens for extended periods
  • Pass background check
  • Pass non-federal drug test excluding marijuana
  • Full-time employment

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum five years office experience preferably in a medical setting
  • Ability to operate keyboard, calculator, telephone, copier and other office equipment
  • Correctable vision to 20/20
  • Normal hearing for telephone communication
  • Strong understanding of patient confidentiality
  • Knowledge of compliance programs and healthcare regulations

Job Duties

  • Greet patients and visitors in a prompt, courteous and professional manner
  • Obtain all appropriate forms and ensure completeness
  • Collect demographic and insurance information including copies of insurance cards and driver’s license
  • Register all new patients and prepare patient charts
  • Notify nursing staff of patient arrivals and organize charts
  • Collect co-pays, deductibles, and other out-of-pocket payments
  • Maintain the lobby area neat and orderly
  • Identify and forward no-shows for patient notification
  • Demonstrate understanding of patient confidentiality
  • Follow policies to contribute to front office efficiency
  • Cover other front office functions as needed
  • Prepare correspondence, memos, forms and perform typing duties as requested
