Job Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Ability to communicate professionally and politely with patients and team members
- Experience with office practices and technology applications preferred
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently without compromising work quality
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information
- Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently and as part of a team
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Prior course work or on-the-job training in dentistry, insurance, or business preferred
- Knowledge of office practices, technology applications, and patient insurances
- Energetic self-starter with ability to set realistic goals and meet commitments
- Flexible, empathetic, ethical patient advocate
- Data-driven, detail-oriented, organized, and computer proficient operator
- Understanding of profit drivers and use of metrics to manage financial performance
- Effective influencer and active listener
- Self-motivated and reliable individual capable of independent and team work
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of patient records
- Organized and detail-oriented able to work in a fast-paced environment
Job Duties
- Model company culture, values, standards, and best operational practices based on the We Believe Behavioral Framework
- Support the Perfect Patient Experience process by helping patients come into the office and ensuring their comfort during visits
- Schedule appointments to ensure healthcare providers have smooth, productive days
- Interact and communicate with patients and guests during their wait time in the reception area
- Answer telephones promptly and handle all calls efficiently and thoroughly
- Ensure daily completion of front office checklist tasks
- Post payments to patient accounts following company policies
- Serve as subject matter expert in practice management system concerning patient registration, e-check in, and maintaining accurate account information
- Efficiently check in patients, obtain necessary consents, and notify back office of patient arrival and pertinent information
- Confirm patient appointments at least 2 days in advance following office policies
- Return and resolve patient messages received from the Contact Center timely
- Actively participate in daily morning huddles, monthly team meetings, and other required meetings
- Understand business imperatives and their impact on metrics
- Demonstrate stewardship of the PDS Brand by making decisions aligned with the brand framework
- Support clinicians in patient education about the Mouth-Body Connection
- Maintain professional appearance and demeanor, and interact respectfully with others
- Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable regulatory requirements
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
