Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization
  • Must be able to use communication technologies such as Cyracom phone
  • Proficiency in computer usage
  • Knowledge of hospital layout and services
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in accordance with hospital policies

Job Duties

  • Willingly performs other related duties
  • Exhibits appropriate telephone courtesy, including answering telephone promptly (by third ring), identifies self and department, speaks clearly and takes accurate messages
  • Uses Cyracom phone or other communication technology effectively when interpreter services are needed
  • Uses computer efficiently and effectively to locate necessary information
  • Promptly greets visitors, patients and staff as they approach the desk, promotes a pleasant, professional and customer friendly service
  • Is knowledgeable about locations and familiar with departments, nursing units and other patient services, facilitates customers in finding appropriate departments, meeting locations and staff members
  • Follows strict policies regarding provision of patient condition, room number and telephone contact information
