Job Duties

  • Greets and orients patients as they arrive for their appointments
  • schedules, reschedules, and cancels appointments as necessary
  • files reports and charts
  • updates patient recalls as necessary
  • promptly and efficiently types patient labels, charts, miscellaneous correspondence, etc
  • maintains organized patient files
  • assists patients as they check out, i.e., next appointment, completes super bill, accepts payment, etc
  • answers telephone calls promptly (two rings)
  • addresses the caller's concern
  • directs all calls to appropriate personnel
  • identifies emergency calls and schedules appropriately
  • performs all front desk duties between 9:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. daily
  • keeps an active cancellation list and uses as necessary
  • confirms all appointments
  • obtains proper insurance information
  • monitors the postage meter and enters postage when needed
  • provides fee schedules and insurance information to patients
