Job Duties
- Greets and orients patients as they arrive for their appointments
- schedules, reschedules, and cancels appointments as necessary
- files reports and charts
- updates patient recalls as necessary
- promptly and efficiently types patient labels, charts, miscellaneous correspondence, etc
- maintains organized patient files
- assists patients as they check out, i.e., next appointment, completes super bill, accepts payment, etc
- answers telephone calls promptly (two rings)
- addresses the caller's concern
- directs all calls to appropriate personnel
- identifies emergency calls and schedules appropriately
- performs all front desk duties between 9:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. daily
- keeps an active cancellation list and uses as necessary
- confirms all appointments
- obtains proper insurance information
- monitors the postage meter and enters postage when needed
- provides fee schedules and insurance information to patients
