This critical role serves as the welcoming face of GLCAC, acting as the primary receptionist and initial point of contact for all clients visiting the center. The Receptionist is pivotal in ensuring that everyone who walks through the doors is greeted warmly and directed efficiently to the appropriate program services offered by GLCAC, including Community Services, Navigator, LIHEAP, WIC, and the Community and Family Support Center. This position requires a strong customer service orientation combined with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with a diverse client base, including Spanish-speaking individuals through bilingual proficiency. The role involves handling multiple administrative responsibilities such as telephone screening, providing vital information, notarization services, assisting in document acquisitions like birth certificates, maintaining client information boards, managing calendar appointments, and ensuring the reception area is welcoming, orderly, and compliant with company protocols. In addition, the Receptionist supports the smooth running of the agency through various duties like updating signs relevant to agency operations and managing supplies in the reception area. Candidates must be adaptable to a fast-paced environment, capable of multitasking amid interruptions, and committed to upholding the agency's values of professionalism, diversity, equity, and inclusion. Being or becoming a Notary Public is either a current requirement or a willingness expected from applicants. This role demands a balance of strong interpersonal skills and administrative efficiency to contribute to the agency’s seamless client experience and operational success.
Job Requirements
- Associate degree in customer services, human services, business or technology
- Minimum of 2 years work experience in a related field or 5 years in a similar role
- Excellent customer service ability and experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish
- Computer proficiency
- Ability to work a flexible schedule
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced team environment
- Must be or willing to become a Notary Public
- Friendly, customer-focused and professional representation
- Effective communication between clients and agency
- Must complete suitable CORI and SORI within first 30 days
