Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- previous experience in a healthcare or customer service environment preferred
- ability to operate switchboard and office machines
- strong interpersonal and communication skills
- ability to maintain confidentiality
- ability to follow safety and emergency procedures
- willingness to attend training and education sessions
- physical ability to perform duties
- commitment to protecting residents and their personal property
- adherence to facility policies and residents' rights

- genuine caring for and interest in elderly and disabled people in a nursing facility
- comply with the residents' rights and facility policies and procedures
- perform work tasks within the physical demand requirements

Job Duties
- Operate paging/telephone system as required
- answer telephone
- determine nature of call and direct caller to appropriate individual or department
- receive inquiries and release information in accordance with established policies and procedures
- deal with Patient Trust Fund, as directed by Business Office Manager
- greet visitors
- direct to appropriate office and/or resident room
- give directions/information to visitors, guests, residents, sales representatives, etc
- assist with administrative duties as directed (includes typing, filing, posting accounts, etc)
- receive, sort, and distribute mail as directed
- operate copier, office machines, etc, as directed
- operate computer as directed
- order supplies, as directed
- assist department directors in administrative matters (i.e. typing reports, correspondence, etc)
- attend in-service education programs in order to meet facility educational requirements
- be familiar with Standard Precautions, Exposure Control Plan, Fire Drill and Evacuation Procedures and know how to use the information
- maintain confidentiality of resident and facility records/information
- protect residents from neglect, mistreatment, and abuse
- protect the personal property of the residents of the facility
- others as directed by the supervisor or administrator
