Job Requirements
- Must possess or obtain an Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
- must be able to pass background clearance
- must obtain and maintain Arizona Food Handlers Permit within one month of employment
- must obtain Peoria USD Cook Safety Certificate
- ability to work outside normal hours
- ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- possible exposure to hazardous chemicals and infectious disease
- may need to maintain a valid Arizona driver’s license
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- six months relevant food service or closely related experience preferred
- equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable
- knowledge of applicable federal, state, county, and city food service regulations
- skill in reading and understanding recipes and measurements
- ability to establish effective working relationships
- ability to operate personal computers with relevant software
Job Duties
- Works closely with the manager regarding preparation quantities and timing
- reads and follows recipes
- performs food preparation tasks including cutting, chopping, and measuring
- prepares and cooks entrées and vegetables
- sets up serving line, fruit and vegetable bar, condiments, and beverages
- serves or cashiers during meal times and assists customers
- completes daily temperature logs and production worksheets
- cleans and sanitizes kitchen, food trays, utensils, floors, work stations, tables, and cafeteria areas
- provides back up to others in preparation, serving, and clean-up
- assists with receiving deliveries, rotating food and supply inventory, and completing monthly inventories
- performs other duties as assigned
