Job Description

Heidelberg Materials is one of the largest suppliers of building materials globally, with a comprehensive footprint across North America. The company operates more than 450 locations throughout the U.S. and Canada, employing approximately 9,000 dedicated team members. Heidelberg Materials is renowned for its commitment to quality, sustainability, and operational excellence within the construction and building materials industry. Their expansive network ensures they can supply essential materials effectively to construction sites, supporting infrastructure development and commercial projects.

Within Heidelberg Materials North America, the Ready Mix Concrete (RMC) division plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality concrete mixtures to a variety of construction clients. As a leader in the building materials sector, Heidelberg Materials is focused on safety, customer service, and environmental responsibility, which are integral to their operations. The company values reliability, teamwork, and the ability to adapt to fast-paced, physically demanding environments.

The Ready Mix Truck Driver position is fundamental in the supply chain of concrete delivery. This role involves the safe operation of ready mix trucks, ensuring timely delivery of concrete to construction sites while maintaining strict adherence to safety protocols and company policies. The driver will conduct daily vehicle inspections to identify maintenance needs proactively, helping to maintain the vehicle's operational integrity and safety. Clear and effective communication with dispatch teams, customers, and colleagues is critical to coordinate deliveries and resolve any challenges that may arise during transport.

This role requires a strong commitment to safety and customer service, as drivers often work in varying weather conditions and must navigate busy construction zones. The position demands flexibility, including availability for early morning shifts and weekend work, to meet the dynamic scheduling needs of construction projects. Drivers must keep accurate records of deliveries and work activities, supporting the company's operational transparency and accountability.

By joining Heidelberg Materials as a Ready Mix Truck Driver, employees benefit from a competitive wage ranging from $25.22 to $40.90 per hour and comprehensive benefits. These include a 401(k) retirement savings plan with company matches and contributions, medical, dental, and vision insurance plans, and additional financial wellness tools such as Health Savings Accounts (HSA), Health Reimbursement Accounts (HRA), and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA). Protection coverage includes AD&D, short-term and long-term disability, and basic life insurance. Paid time off offerings are generous, featuring bonding leave, vacation days, sick leave, and paid holidays.

Heidelberg Materials is an Equal Opportunity Employer that encourages applications from minorities, females, veterans, and individuals with disabilities. Applicants must be at least 18 years old, with age verification required as a condition of employment. Safety screening processes, including post-offer physical exams, drug and alcohol screening, and background checks, are mandatory. This role operates primarily in potentially hazardous environments including exposure to moving machinery, inclement weather, and elevated noise levels, emphasizing the importance of adherence to safety standards at all times.
