Job Description
United Materials is a proud part of Votorantim Cimentos North America (VCNA), one of the most respected building materials and sustainability solutions providers operating across 11 countries. As the North American branch of this global leader, VCNA is dedicated to creating a positive impact in the construction industry by providing high-quality products and services. The company specializes in essential building materials such as cement, ready-mix concrete, and aggregates, facilitating the construction of homes, highways, hospitals, buildings, bridges, and schools throughout the Great Lakes region of Canada and the United States, including the Northeast U.S. VCNA’s commitment to excellence and sustainability is deeply ingrained in its culture, built upon solid partnerships, long-lasting relationships, and fostering opportunities for personal and professional growth within a diverse and dynamic workforce.
The role of Ready Mix Driver at United Materials involves the critical task of safely delivering ready-mixed concrete to various job sites. This position demands a high level of safety awareness, professionalism, and attention to detail. The Ready Mix Driver ensures that the product is delivered as per quality specifications while abiding by regulations set by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT), and other local municipalities. Responsibilities include careful loading of the truck, inspection of delivery tickets, verification of concrete slump and additives, and maintaining the cleanliness of the mixer truck to prevent hardened concrete build-up. The driver also plays an important role in representing the company positively on job sites and public roads, providing superior customer service. Beyond driving duties, the position may require assistance with additional site and plant projects as directed.
This is a full-time role typically compensated at $28.00 per hour, and availability for Saturday work during peak seasons may be required. The company values safety above all else and dedicates itself to the health and wellness of its employees by maintaining a safe workplace and high-quality standards. As part of United Materials and VCNA, the Ready Mix Driver is also invited to participate in a culture of collaboration, training, mentorship programs such as SheBuilds, tuition reimbursement, and professional development opportunities. This position offers competitive wages, comprehensive health benefits, retirement savings plans like RRSP and 401K, and various employee assistance and family support programs.
VCNA encourages inclusion and equal opportunity employment by fostering a results-oriented culture that embraces honesty, authenticity, and diversity. Employees are valued regardless of their race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability status, or other personal characteristics. By joining VCNA and United Materials, the Ready Mix Driver becomes part of a renowned organization that has contributed to iconic landmarks including Toronto's CN Tower and Chicago’s St. Regis, helping shape the future of building and infrastructure development while promoting sustainability and community involvement.
