Job Description
Cemstone has established itself as a leading name in the ready-mix concrete industry throughout the Upper Midwest, boasting nearly 100 years of excellence as a family-owned business. Known for delivering high-quality products combined with unparalleled customer service, Cemstone has played a pivotal role in the construction and infrastructure development of the region. The company’s commitment to its core values and reputation for reliability and professionalism is reflected in the many structures that have been built with their innovative concrete solutions. As a well-respected entity in the construction materials sector, Cemstone emphasizes employee growth, safety, and community involvement, making it an attractive employer for those seeking a stable and rewarding career in the industry.
We are currently looking to expand our team with dedicated and motivated Ready-Mix Drivers who are eager to launch or continue their careers within a respected company. This role offers not only competitive wages starting at $36.25 per hour but also a comprehensive benefits package including medical and dental insurance, life insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, wellness programs, education assistance, and an employee assistance program. With the support of paid on-the-job training and a tuition/CDL reimbursement program, gaining professional development and career advancement opportunities has never been more accessible.
The Ready-Mix Driver position plays a critical role in the company’s operations by ensuring that ready-mixed concrete products are safely and efficiently delivered to job sites within a set proximity due to the product’s perishable nature. The role demands physical stamina, technical knowledge of the vehicles, and safety compliance with Department of Transportation regulations. Drivers can expect a work schedule usually involving five days of up to ten or more hours, with overtime on weekdays and Saturdays depending on business needs. Importantly, this job allows drivers to end each day at the same location they start from and guarantees a nightly return home, which is a key benefit for work-life balance.
In this role, drivers will be tasked with performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections of their trucks, ensuring all machinery is in safe operating condition, and handling all materials pertinent to the concrete mixture such as fibers, chemical additives, and coloring agents. Precision in maneuvering the truck on often unstable job site grounds and maintaining positive communication with dispatch are crucial components of the daily responsibilities. Drivers also manage and complete all delivery paperwork, collect payments when necessary, and maintain thorough cleanliness and upkeep of the truck to comply with safety standards. This position is perfect for individuals who take pride in their work, enjoy teamwork, and strive to enhance customer satisfaction through professional conduct and reliable service.
