Job Description
Cemstone has established itself as a leader in the ready-mix concrete industry across the Upper Midwest, renowned for its high-quality products and exceptional customer service. With nearly a century of experience, this family-owned company has built a reputation rooted in quality, reliability, and a strong commitment to its core values. Cemstone's ready-mix concrete and associated products have contributed to the construction of numerous structures, ensuring lasting durability and performance. Their focus on safety, professionalism, and customer satisfaction underscores every aspect of their operations, making Cemstone a trusted partner for construction projects across the region.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join Cemstone as a Ready-Mix Driver, a key role vital to the company's continued success. The position involves delivering ready-mixed concrete and other related products to construction job sites while ensuring the perishability of the concrete is carefully managed by working within reasonable proximity limits. The role features a dynamic work schedule that typically consists of five days, with shifts potentially extending beyond 10 hours. Depending on business demands, there could be opportunities for both voluntary and mandatory overtime during the week, including Saturdays. Notably, drivers return home each night, starting and ending their days at the same location, which contributes significantly to work-life balance.
As a Ready-Mix Driver, you will be responsible for handling a variety of critical tasks essential to the delivery process. These include conducting thorough pre-trip inspections in compliance with Department of Transportation regulations, safely loading and transporting concrete to meet the desired specifications, maneuvering trucks on often unstable job sites, and accurately handling all paperwork and cash collection duties. You'll also use communication tools such as two-way radios and truck status signaling systems to coordinate with dispatchers efficiently. Furthermore, the role involves maintaining the cleanliness and operational readiness of the truck after each shift, including washing it thoroughly and performing post-trip inspections.
Cemstone deeply invests in its employees by providing comprehensive benefits and support programs. These include medical and dental insurance, paid time off, participation in a 401k retirement plan with company match, tuition reimbursement, and paid on-the-job training. The company also offers a wellness program, life insurance, education assistance, and an employee assistance program aimed at supporting the well-being and professional growth of its workforce. Competitive wages ranging from $31.95 to $35.50 per hour reflect the company’s commitment to valuing their drivers' expertise and dedication.
If you are seeking a career opportunity that combines steady employment, growth potential, and a supportive working environment within a respected company, Cemstone’s Ready-Mix Driver position could be the perfect fit. The company emphasizes diversity and inclusion, encouraging applications from women, minorities, individuals with disabilities, and veterans. Joining Cemstone means becoming part of a vibrant, diverse team that plays an integral role in shaping the infrastructure and communities across the Upper Midwest.
