With a reputation for producing some of the industry’s most critically acclaimed and genre-defining games over the past 30 years, Blizzard continues to engage tens of millions of players worldwide across multiple platforms such as PC via Battle.net, Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android. The company operates within the highly dynamic interactive entertainment sector, combining media, technology, and entertainment to deliver influential and immersive experiences. As part of a large and successful global gaming network, Blizzard emphasizes diversity, inclusivity, and fostering a working environment where employees can thrive and create extraordinary products for an extensive audience.
The Re-recording Mixer position within Blizzard’s award-winning Cinematic Audio department offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the soundscapes of cinematic trailers and game content that bring Blizzard’s characters, creatures, and environments to life. This temporary 12-month role requires a seasoned professional with at least four years of experience in mixing, sound editing, and mastering for linear media, including film, games, trailers, or advertising. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with the Cinematic Audio Director, Producers, Editors, and other stakeholders, ensuring that the audio produced complements gameplay trailers, real-time cutscenes, and pre-rendered cinematics. This position demands advanced proficiency with ProTools and other mixing, mastering, and sound design plug-ins to produce original, high-quality audio content.
The role is anticipated to be hybrid, with some on-site work in Irvine, CA, balanced by remote work options tailored to individual circumstances. Responsibilities include managing priorities in a fast-paced environment, maintaining positive relationships with clients and team members, and supporting multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines. Candidates should be comfortable working solo or within a collaborative team setting and demonstrate outstanding audio storytelling capabilities. Bonus qualifications include experience with Dolby Atmos mixing, the Dolby Atmos renderer, Avid S6 mixing consoles, Wwise audio integration for games, live recording session management, and use of remote collaboration tools such as Evercast or ClearView.
Blizzard Entertainment is deeply committed to equal employment opportunity and diversity, encouraging applicants from all backgrounds to apply, including those who may not meet every qualification exactly as listed. The company supports employees with comprehensive benefits that promote physical, emotional, and financial well-being, including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, paid leave, mental health programs, and more. Compensation for this hourly position ranges from $29.81 to $55.14 per hour depending on experience and location, with potential incentive compensation opportunities.
