The Effector RF Design Department at Raytheon is actively seeking a highly motivated entry-level RF Engineer to join its team in Tucson, Arizona. This onsite role offers a unique opportunity for recent graduates or early career engineers with educational experience or professional interest in antenna, radome, and antenna measurement system technology to contribute to crucial defense-related projects. The engineer will be responsible for supporting the full design life cycle of antenna and radome hardware, collaborating closely with interdisciplinary teams spanning thermal, structural, mechanical, and systems engineering disciplines. The role demands the application of fundamental antenna design principles, electromagnetic theory, and simulation tools in a rigorous and dynamic environment.
The candidate will work on complex technical challenges involving antenna modeling and simulation execution on both workstations and high-performance computing (HPC) resources. Interpreting simulation and measurement data to ensure hardware meets performance specifications will be a key responsibility. This position requires U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance, which must be active and transferable prior to the start date. The salary range for this position is between $68,900 and $131,100 per year depending on experience, education, and other relevant factors. Job Requirements
- Master’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a related STEM field
- U.S. citizenship
- ability to obtain Department of Defense Secret security clearance
- active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance prior to start date
- strong foundational knowledge in RF and electromagnetic theory
- proficiency in antenna modeling and simulation
- ability to work onsite in Tucson, Arizona

Job Qualifications
- Master’s degree in electrical engineering or computer engineering or related science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) major
- experience and/or coursework with RF and electromagnetic theory
- proficiency with modeling and simulation tools such as HFSS, CST, FEKO, SENTRi and/or GRASP
- ABET is the preferred, although not required accreditation standard
- 3.0 cumulative GPA desired
- solid background and practical understanding of designing GPS antenna systems (to include experience or relevant course work)
- model generation and simulation experience with conformal antennas (to include experience or relevant course work)
- proficiency with Python, MATLAB and/or other high level scientific programming languages
- proficiency with high performance computing (HPC) environments and schedulers such as SLURM
