Job Description
Securitas is a global leader in the security industry, offering the most advanced and sustainable security solutions to clients across 47 countries. With a workforce of 355,000 employees worldwide and a client base exceeding 150,000, Securitas has established itself as the premier security provider in North America. The company is committed to protecting homes, workplaces, and communities by providing reliable security services designed to safeguard assets, ensure the safety of people, and help businesses maintain their operational integrity and profitability. Central to Securitas’ mission are its core values of integrity, vigilance, and helpfulness, which form the foundation for building trust with customers, colleagues, and the communities they serve. These values are symbolized by the three red dots in the Securitas logo and guide employees in their daily efforts to deliver exceptional security services.
The Rapid Response Security Officer role at Securitas offers a dynamic and fast-paced career opportunity for individuals ready to take on a challenging and rewarding position. Unlike traditional security positions tied to a single site, Rapid Response Officers are part of an elite, adaptable team that fills in at various client locations as needed across the Greater Burlington, Vermont area. This role is ideal for candidates seeking full-time hours without being confined to one fixed site. Officers learn to navigate and secure multiple environments, gaining accelerated experience that helps them rapidly grow their security expertise and stand out in the field.
Rapid Response Officers’ schedules are flexible and change on a weekly basis to accommodate coverage needs across different shifts and sites. There are designated teams for daytime (1st or 2nd shift) and nighttime (overnight shifts), and shifts typically last eight hours, although some may vary between four to twelve hours. This variety allows officers to develop adaptability and remain engaged in their work. The position is designed for dependable, professional individuals who are eager to learn, grow their careers within the company, and excel in communication and customer service. Officers must be comfortable working in fast-changing environments and demonstrate flexibility regarding availability, including the ability to work various shifts and travel to multiple client sites.
Securitas supports its Rapid Response Officers by providing paid CPR, First Aid, and specialized training including the use of metal detection equipment. New hires receive assistance in obtaining the necessary Vermont Guard Card to legally work in the security industry. The company offers competitive compensation at $22.50 per hour, weekly pay, and clear advancement opportunities, making this an excellent pathway for career development in the security sector. Benefits such as retirement plans, medical and dental insurance, company-paid life insurance, paid time off, and employee assistance programs provide added security and support for employees.
This position is well-suited for individuals who want to avoid being tied to a single post and instead seek to build their skills quickly across different environments. Those who take pride in being relied upon during critical situations and desire to thrive in a role that demands vigilance, integrity, and helpfulness will find this career offering fulfilling and impactful. Securitas is an employer that values diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging, and actively welcomes qualified applicants from all backgrounds, including active and retired service members. By joining Securitas as a Rapid Response Security Officer, candidates become part of a global team dedicated to making the world a safer place through superior security services.
