Job Description

KDC/ONE is a reputable and innovative company operating within the personal care and beauty industry. The organization is recognized for its commitment to research, development, and manufacturing of high-quality cosmetic and personal care products. Known for fostering a supportive and dynamic work environment, KDC/ONE emphasizes teamwork, flexibility, and professional growth. Employees benefit from a structured yet accommodating schedule that promotes work-life balance and a culture that values safety, precision, and continuous learning.

The company is currently seeking a dedicated R&D Lab Technician to join their team in New Albany. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in the scientific and technical aspects of product development, particularly in the stability testing of personal care products. The role is designed for a candidate who thrives in a lab environment and possesses keen attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to perform routine laboratory tests with accuracy and efficiency.

The R&D Lab Technician works exclusively weekdays with an 8-hour shift, Monday through Friday, providing a consistent schedule without the complications of rotating shifts. This flexibility allows employees to select start and end times that best suit their needs, subject to business requirements and managerial approval. The position offers hourly wages between $22.00 and $23.00, which reflect the technical expertise and responsibility involved in the role.

The technician's primary responsibilities include preparing and organizing samples for stability testing, meticulously following established protocols to ensure reliable and reproducible results. The technician will also manage the placement and retrieval of samples from specific storage conditions at predetermined intervals, meticulously recording all stability data and associated documentation in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions (WIs).

Communication is a critical part of this role, as the technician must accurately convey test results, including any out-of-specification findings, to R&D management promptly. Additional duties involve maintaining accurate laboratory records such as temperature logs and calibration documentation, assisting with equipment upkeep and validation tasks, and ensuring the laboratory environment remains safe, organized, and compliant with all safety and confidentiality guidelines.

The ideal candidate will have at least a high school diploma or equivalent, with additional education in a science-related field being highly preferred. Experience in a laboratory setting, particularly in testing and data management, is advantageous, along with basic proficiency in computer applications such as Microsoft Office. Practical knowledge of viscometers, pH meters, and color evaluation techniques is considered an added benefit, especially for those with experience in personal care or cosmetics manufacturing.

This role demands strong observational skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks, and a commitment to delivering high-quality results. Candidates must be able to follow detailed verbal and written instructions and foster collaborative relationships within the team. Physical requirements include the ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds, perform routine tasks while standing, sitting, or reaching, and discern color and odor differences when testing samples.

Joining KDC/ONE means becoming part of a professional team that values safety, accuracy, and innovation. Employees enjoy great benefits, including paid time off and vacation from the outset, along with a work schedule conducive to personal and professional balance. This is a prime opportunity for those seeking to gain hands-on experience in R&D and stability testing within the fast-evolving and vibrant personal care and beauty sector.
