Job Description
Bridor North America is a leading premium bakery innovator, known for blending traditional artisan baking techniques with large-scale industrial production. Established as a company dedicated to crafting superior bakery products, Bridor North America continuously aims to push the envelope in baker innovation and quality. Their new industrial baking facility in Salt Lake City, Utah, represents a substantial investment in expanding their production capabilities and bringing artisan bakery expertise to a rapidly growing food manufacturing hub. This new facility embodies the company’s vision of combining authentic artisan baking with efficient industrial scale manufacturing, catering to the evolving tastes and demands of North American consumers. With a focus on growth, innovation, and quality, Bridor North America offers a distinctive workplace environment that values craftsmanship, technical expertise, and collaboration among specialized teams.
The company is currently seeking an experienced R&D Baker Tourier Specialist to join its Salt Lake City team. This role is more than just a traditional research and development position; it is a hands-on, dynamic role that steers bakery product concepts through full-scale commercialization while maintaining authentic artisan quality. The position involves developing classic laminated doughs such as croissants and puff pastries, as well as Viennese pastries and artisan breads, transitioning these recipes from small-scale quarters into a scalable production environment. The R&D Baker Tourier Specialist will play a pivotal role in leading plant trials, supporting scale-ups, and launching new products in a high-volume production setting.
This opportunity presents an exciting career move for professionals looking to relocate to a region with a lower cost of living while advancing in their baker careers. Salt Lake City is recognized as a growing food manufacturing hub with an excellent quality of life. In this role, the specialist will collaborate cross-functionally with teams from Operations, Quality, Purchasing, and Finance, ensuring that the balance between cost-effectiveness, operational efficiency, and product performance is maintained. The specialist will conduct tastings, evaluate product performance, and meticulously document findings to drive continuous improvement and innovation. Staying current on ingredient trends, bakery innovations, and scalable process improvements is a critical part of the role.
The role requires not only technical baking skills but also excellent communication and problem-solving capabilities. It demands deep expertise in traditional French and Viennese baking techniques, particularly with laminated doughs. Candidates should be comfortable working within stringent food safety standards, including FDA, USDA, CFIA, HACCP, GMP, and BRC requirements, ensuring that all processes align with regulatory expectations. Candidates should expect a day shift schedule with some flexibility during trials and product launches, as well as occasional domestic travel within the U.S. and to Canada. Importantly, relocation to Salt Lake City is mandatory, and candidates must handle their own relocation without assistance, highlighting the company’s commitment to finding specialists dedicated to joining this new chapter in its expansion.
Joining Bridor North America as an R&D Baker Tourier Specialist offers a rare blend of opportunities to develop and innovate premium bakery products at the intersection of artisan tradition and modern manufacturing scale. It invites passionate baking professionals to contribute to a dynamic team that values heritage and craftsmanship while embracing cutting-edge industrial baking technologies. The role is ideal for driven individuals who are ready to step into a leadership role within a fast-growing company and leave their mark on the North American premium bakery market.
