Job Description

Horizon Air is a regional airline known for its commitment to delivering outstanding customer service and seamless travel experiences. As part of the renowned Alaska Airlines Group, Horizon Air plays an essential role in connecting smaller communities to larger hubs, facilitating convenient and efficient air travel across the Pacific Northwest and beyond. The airline prides itself on fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment where teamwork, respect, and professionalism are paramount. Employees at Horizon Air become part of a dedicated team that values safety, reliability, and customer satisfaction, making it a respected brand in the regional aviation industry.

Horizon Air is currently seeking a Ramp & Customer Service Agent to join their airport operations team at the Reno, NV location. This position is offered as a part-time regular role with an hourly starting wage of $19.37. The role is dynamic and requires versatility, handling both above wing and below wing airport functions. Agents act as the face of Horizon Air at the airport, ensuring passengers are greeted with warmth and professionalism from curbside through boarding. The position uniquely blends customer interaction with physical operational tasks that keep the ramp running smoothly.

As a Ramp & Customer Service Agent, you will be responsible for a broad range of duties including assisting guests with travel needs such as handling inquiries, managing baggage concerns, ticketing, and checking in passengers under fast-paced conditions. You will work outdoors performing physical ramp activities like transporting baggage and cargo, loading and offloading luggage, marshaling aircraft, pushing back aircraft, and even participating in aircraft deicing and security searches. The role requires strong multitasking skills and the ability to think quickly on your feet.

The position demands stamina and physical capability as agents must be able to lift heavy weights up to 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, and perform movements including bending, stooping, and reaching. A flexible schedule is necessary including availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays. Paid training and opportunities for professional growth are offered, with the potential for overnight travel during training sessions. Beyond physical and technical responsibilities, agents embody Horizon’s core values of safety, care, kindness, and performance, creating a welcoming, safe, and efficient travel environment.

Working at Horizon Air comes with an excellent total rewards package. Employees enjoy complimentary standby travel privileges not only on Horizon Air but also on Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines, providing exciting travel benefits. Comprehensive well-being programs covering medical, dental, and vision care are available, along with a generous 401k matching program and annual bonus incentives. Paid holidays and generous paid time off ensure employees maintain a healthy work-life balance. The company also upholds strict equal employment opportunities and fosters a respectful workplace free from discrimination and harassment.

This role demands compliance with airport security regulations including obtaining an airport SIDA badge and passing mandatory drug testing in accordance with Department of Transportation rules. Horizon Air is committed to providing a safe and inclusive workplace and encourages applicants from all backgrounds who are looking to develop their careers in the airline industry to apply. If you're ready to be part of a highly visible team that impacts travelers’ journeys daily and thrive in a fast-paced, physically active environment, Horizon Air invites you to explore this rewarding career opportunity.
