The Ramp & Customer Service Agent role at Horizon Air is integral to the smooth operation of airport services. This part-time regular position based in Fresno, CA, involves a mix of customer-facing duties and behind-the-scenes ramp operations. Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- minimum age of 18
- must be authorized to work in the u.s.
- must have a valid unexpired driver’s license issued by a us state, a us territory or the district of columbia
- ability to communicate in english
- ability to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- ability to lift at least 50 pounds consistently
- must be able to stand for long periods of time
- must be able to bend, stoop, squat, reach and grasp
- ability to perform basic mathematics
- ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays
- ability to participate in paid training that may require overnight travel
- ability to obtain airport security clearance
- depending on work location, ability to obtain usps mail handling certification
Job Qualifications
- strong written and verbal communication skills
- ability to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- valid unexpired driver’s license issued by a US state, a US territory or the District of Columbia
- ability to learn and operate a computerized reservation system
- typing speed of at least 25 wpm
- ability to consistently lift 50 pounds
- must be able to stand for long periods of time
- must be able to bend, stoop, squat, reach and grasp
- ability to perform basic mathematics
- ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays
- ability to participate in paid training that may require overnight travel
- depending on work location, ability to obtain USPS Mail Handling Certification
- ability to obtain airport security clearance
- ability to communicate in English
- high school diploma or equivalent
- minimum age of 18
- must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- preferred minimum of 1 year of customer service or community service experience
Job Duties
- assist guests with travel needs such as answering inquiries, baggage, ticketing, checking-in passengers and boarding flights
- work outdoors in all types of weather conditions while performing below wing functions such as transporting baggage and cargo, loading and offloading luggage and cargo, aircraft marshaling, pushing back the aircraft and aircraft deicing
- perform aircraft grooming and security searches
- perform boarding and gate duties including assisting and directing guests, making announcements, processing standby and upgrade requests
- process and secure guest luggage, file and maintain luggage claims including damaged, delayed and pilferage
- load and offload luggage and cargo with the use of conveyor belts
- perform other duties as assigned and perform duties at the direction of management to ensure guest satisfaction
