With a rich history and a strong reputation, PSC Group emphasizes promoting from within and fostering a supportive work environment that values teamwork and safety above all.
The company is currently seeking dependable, safety-minded individuals to join its Rail Switching team as Railcar Technicians. This full-time position offers a hands-on opportunity to work outdoors in a dynamic, fast-paced setting. As a Railcar Technician, employees will be responsible for safely moving railcars within an industrial facility, a critical role that supports day-to-day logistics operations. The position involves working rotating 12-hour shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays, and requires regular on-site attendance and punctuality.
PSC Group provides paid training for new hires, ensuring that even candidates without prior experience can acquire the skills necessary to succeed in this essential role. The company offers comprehensive employee benefits, including medical, dental, and vision insurance with a significant portion of premiums covered by the company, company-paid life and disability insurance, a matching 401(k) retirement plan, paid vacation, sick leave and holidays, as well as employee incentives and bonuses. Industry-leading training and development programs are also available, empowering employees to grow within the organization.
Railcar Technicians play a vital role in the operation of the rail switching team by reviewing track lists, organizing railcars for spotting, separating loaded cars from empties, verifying weight compliance, and ensuring that railcars are properly connected and secured. Additionally, some team members may specialize as Railcar Cleaners, performing inspections, operating washing equipment, removing debris, and preparing cars for cleaning.
The ideal candidate will be at least 18 years old, legally authorized to work in the United States, and able to pass a drug screen, physical examination, and background check. The ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) without restriction and to communicate fluently in English is essential. While prior experience is advantageous, the company values candidates who demonstrate reliability, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety. Previous military experience and a proven ability to follow procedures are considered a plus.
PSC Group's culture is grounded in its Core Values, which shape every aspect of its operations, from how they conduct business to how employees treat each other. These values promote an inclusive, respectful, and engaging workplace where all team members are encouraged to contribute and grow.
