The current opening is for a part-time Radiologic Technologist to work overnight shifts from Monday through Thursday at the Killeen, Texas location. This role is crucial in supporting patient diagnosis and treatment by performing diagnostic radiographic procedures accurately and safely. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in radiologic technology, with a strong grasp of patient positioning, equipment operation, and safety protocols. Responsibilities extend beyond technical execution to encompass direct patient care duties, ensuring that every patient receives compassionate and attentive care throughout their procedure. Job Requirements
- High school grad or equiv
- Registered technologist - radiography (RT(R)) (ARRT) required
- Medical radiologic technologist license with Texas Medical Board (MRT) required
- Basic life support - CPR cert (BLS) required
- 1+ year experience preferably in radiology or a new graduate of accredited radiologic technology program
- Must be able to operate radiographic equipment and work with electrical and radiant energy
- Must be able to independently perform radiographic procedures to departmental standards
- Must have the knowledge and skill necessary to provide care that addresses the physical, psychosocial, educational, safety, and age appropriate needs to patient population served
- Ability to multi-task efficiently in a fast pace, high patient volume environment
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations
- Must be able to read, write and speak conversational English
- Must demonstrate ability to follow written and verbal instructions effectively
Job Qualifications
- Previous radiologic technologist experience preferred
- One year post certification experience required to evaluate and/or instruct student radiographers
- Up-to-date knowledge of patient positioning and equipment operations, including x-ray producing equipment
- Ability to communicate appropriately and effectively with patients and their family, hospital staff, nurses, physicians, and other health care professionals
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Ability to use computer system for data entry and retrieval
- Must be able to independently perform radiographic procedures to departmental standards
- Demonstrates ability to follow written and verbal instructions effectively
- Ability to learn and use radiology software packages such as Cerner, Radnet, PACS, etc.
- Maintain responsibility for all required registries and licenses to perform diagnostic imaging
- Responsible to maintain all required continuing and annual education
- Ability to determine appropriate technical factors
- Ability to learn and master new tasks related to image quality and radiation safety
- Able to fully use all radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment
- Strong critical thinking skills
- Ability to multi-task efficiently in a fast pace, high patient volume environment
- Knowledge and skill necessary to provide care that addresses the physical, psychosocial, educational, safety, and age appropriate needs to the patient population served within the department
- Ability to communicate effectively and work with people of various diverse backgrounds
- Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the health care industry
- Knowledge of diagnostic radiological procedures and positions
- Knowledge of communication styles and proper engagement behaviors when interacting with patients, staff, and physicians
- Must be able to read, write and speak conversational English
- Adult and child/infant CPR certified
Job Duties
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, providers, team members, and others of diverse backgrounds
- Moves, positions, and manipulates radiographic equipment to complete requested procedures safely
- Performs direct patient care duties within the technologist’s scope of practice, including monitoring patient condition, transporting patient, and using proper infection control techniques
- Ensures exam rooms are clean, stocked, and ready for use, and that all equipment undergoes routine cleaning and safety checks
- Notifies appropriate personnel when inventory is low
- Cross-trains into advanced modalities as needed
