The Radiology Technician (CRT) role at Cedars-Sinai is a critical position supporting patient care through diagnostic imaging. This role involves performing x-rays as prescribed by physicians, utilizing radiologic equipment proficiently, and adhering to clinical and administrative protocols that ensure the efficient operation of various physician offices and health practitioner environments. The Radiology Technician must demonstrate clinical and technical excellence, following established procedures, using appropriate technique charts, and exercising independent judgment to produce optimal diagnostic images. Responsibilities extend beyond imaging to include contributing to quality assurance, maintaining logs and infection control standards, assisting clinicians during examinations or minor surgeries, and educating patients on procedures. The role also entails multi-site flexibility, precepting new or limited x-ray staff, and maintaining medical and surgical supplies. Job Requirements

High school diploma or GED required
Valid Imaging CA Radiologic Tech license required
BLS certification with expiration date valid 60 days from start date required
One year working experience as an X-Ray Technician preferred
Basic knowledge of patient care flow and insurance concepts
Ability to perform infection control processes
Ability to work across multiple sites
Capable of maintaining logs and quality assurance documentation
Strong communication skills for patient education and staff orientation
Ability to use PACS system for image retrieval

Job Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required
Bachelor’s degree preferred
One year working experience as an X-Ray Technician preferred
Imaging CA Radiologic Tech license required
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross required
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists preferred
Certification from Board Approved Medical Assistant Organization preferred

Job Duties

Demonstrates clinical proficiency and technical skills as a CRT
Performs diagnostic radiographic procedures, positioning patients and adjusting equipment to acquire optimum views
Performs procedures based on established technique chart using independent judgment
Exhibits solid understanding and relationships with other departments related to radiological services
Demonstrates basic understanding of patient care flow and insurance concepts
Uses appropriate technique charts and assures markers are set appropriately
Demonstrates ability to work in multiple x-ray sites and acts as a role model in providing care
Assists in precepting other CRT and Limited X-Ray staff
Demonstrates ability to retrieve studies from PACS for review and assists with quality assurance
Maintains logs for quality control based on manufacturers recommendation
Performs appropriate infection control processes
Reviews dosimeter reports monthly
Provides patient education pertaining to requested studies and aids in new staff orientation
May assist the clinician during examinations and/or minor surgeries
Keeps exam and/or procedure rooms stocked with adequate supplies, maintains instruments, and performs sterilization
Escorts patients, interviews patients, measures vital signs, documents information, and performs designated diagnostic tests as advised
