This opportunity is for a temp-to-hire assembly specialist role with a pay range between $18 and $22 per hour. The position involves critical responsibilities in rack integration and assembly within the high-tech manufacturing environment of AMAX. The successful candidate will be instrumental in the installation and integration of servers, networking devices, and other hardware into rack solutions following precise specifications. In addition, the role requires assembling systems from chassis and components, ensuring quality and accuracy in every step—from unpacking and fitting components to packaging finished products. The job demands meticulous attention to detail, adherence to safety standards including maintaining an ESD-safe environment, and the ability to work efficiently within a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Candidates will also participate in supporting production schedules, performing inventory activities such as audits and cycle counts, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. Communication skills are vital as the role involves effectively reporting quality concerns and collaborating with supervisors and team members. The role also includes occasional travel to client sites to perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and deployment services. Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent required
  • technical certification or college coursework is a plus
  • previous assembly experience in the electronics, computer hardware, or manufacturing industry preferred
  • ability to read and understand assembly instructions, production orders and control documentation
  • experience using hand tools and light power tools safely and effectively
  • strong attention to detail with the ability to follow procedures and quality standards
  • ability to multitask, prioritize work, and meet production deadlines
  • effective verbal and written communication skills
  • soldering experience is a plus but not required
  • travel to client sites to perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and deployment services
  • ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, squat, reach, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods
  • ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 40 pounds

Job Duties

  • install rack rails and mount servers into rack solutions according to specifications
  • verify status indicators and operational readiness of servers, switches, routers, modems, and other network devices
  • inspect and verify power connections for servers and network equipment
  • install and verify network cables, cable connections, and associated hardware
  • apply cable labels and organize cabling according to company standards and CCD requirements
  • identify and understand the basic functions of server, storage, network, and rack components
  • perform rack-and-stack activities, including installation, cabling, and configuration support for servers, storage systems, and networking equipment
  • communicate quality concerns and potential issues effectively to supervisors and team members
  • maintain accuracy and attention to detail while performing installation and verification tasks
  • prepare work by reviewing assembly instructions (MPI), blueprints, specifications, and bills of materials (BOMs)
  • verify and gather required parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials before assembly
  • unpack chassis and components and prepare them for production
  • assemble systems and subassemblies by ensuring proper fit and securing components according to work instructions
  • scan component serial numbers into the manufacturing execution system (MES) for tracking and traceability
  • complete required production and quality documentation accurately and timely
  • prepare accessories, apply labels, and perform visual inspections of completed systems prior to packaging
  • package finished products according to BOM and shipping requirements
  • maintain an ESD-safe work environment and follow all safety procedures
  • support production schedules by following supervisor instructions and working overtime when required
  • assist with production floor audits, cycle counts, and inventory activities
  • follow 5S principles to maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
  • support additional production and manufacturing operations as needed
  • contribute to team objectives and continuous improvement initiatives
