The Quick Service Pastry Cook 1 role is vital in supporting the culinary team to produce superior bakery products in a swift and efficient manner. This position primarily involves preparing basic pastry and baking tasks, such as scooping and portioning batters, measuring ingredients, and using kitchen equipment safely and hygienically. The cook must work closely with kitchen stewards to maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace and assist with inventory management, including proper storage and rotation of goods. Job Requirements

  • a high school diploma or equivalent
  • 6 months of related experience preferred
  • ability to achieve ServSafe certification within 90 days
  • basic math skills including adding subtracting multiplying dividing and counting using whole numbers and fractions
  • ability to maintain discretion when handling confidential information
  • ability to interact professionally with guests and team members
  • ability to work irregular hours including nights weekends and holidays
  • physical ability to perform job duties including lifting up to 50 pounds with assistance
  • willingness to wear required personal protective equipment ppe
  • ability to perform a variety of physical activities such as standing walking climbing stooping kneeling crouching and balancing in a fast-paced environment

Job Qualifications

  • a high school diploma or equivalent and 6 months of related experience are preferred
  • experience with or knowledge of scaling mixing proofing and baking of breads and other baked goods is preferred
  • the ability to successfully achieve servsafe certification within 90 days
  • the ability to use basic math skills including adding subtracting multiplying dividing and counting using whole numbers and fractions
  • the ability to maintain discretion in handling confidential information
  • the ability to interact with guests and team members professionally
  • the ability to work irregular hours and extended shifts including late nights early mornings weekends and holidays
  • while performing the duties of this job the team member is regularly required to talk hear stand sit walk climb balance stoop kneel crouch and move freely throughout the property for prolonged periods of time in a physically demanding fast-paced environment
  • the team member is frequently required to use hands to handle or feel objects tools or controls and reach with hands and arms
  • the team member is required to lift carry push pull or move objects up to 25 pounds on a regular basis and up to 50 pounds occasionally with assistance
  • team member must wear all required personal protective equipment ppe while performing job duties
  • specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision color vision distance vision peripheral vision depth perception and the ability to adjust focus

Job Duties

  • perform basic pastry and baking duties including scooping and portioning of batters and measuring ingredients
  • use and clean kitchen surfaces equipment and utensils including ovens mixers and knives safely
  • maintain a safe sanitary and organized working environment working closely with stewards at all times
  • learn to perform more advanced pastry and baking duties and assist other members of the culinary team
  • assist in storing and rotating all inventories as needed
  • perform opening and closing duties as needed
  • perform job duties in full compliance with departmental internal controls policies procedures and regulations
  • perform other duties as assigned
