Job Description

Transcendia is a recognized leader in the field of custom engineered materials, specializing in producing critical product components for a diverse array of markets and applications. The company prides itself on its deep material science expertise, outstanding customer service, and extensive geographic reach that assures trusted product reliability. Transcendia's reputation in the industry is built on its commitment to innovation, quality, and strong collaboration with its clients, enabling the development of tailored materials that meet highly specific requirements and standards. Their portfolio spans numerous industries, demonstrating versatility in engineered film and custom material solutions designed to enhance performance and durability in end products.

Transcendia is currently seeking a Quality Technician to join their team. This essential hybrid role combines precision-driven laboratory quality control (QC) testing with active real-time process auditing on the manufacturing floor. As a Quality Technician, you will serve as the primary advocate for product excellence, regulatory compliance, and the reliability of manufacturing processes. Your role will involve partnering closely with production team members to detect early deviations, troubleshoot material variations, and ensure that every roll of engineered film or custom material consistently meets the company’s stringent quality standards and customer specifications. The position offers a unique balance between laboratory analysis and on-floor manufacturing support, making it both dynamic and impactful within the production process.

Your laboratory responsibilities will include performing standardized physical and analytical tests such as tensile strength, gauge/thickness verification, tear resistance, and optical clarity on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products. You will be responsible for accurately documenting all test outcomes within the quality tracking system and maintaining testing equipment by calibrating, troubleshooting, and optimizing its performance to guarantee continuous accuracy and minimal downtime. Additionally, you will generate Certificates of Analysis (CoA) as needed to fulfill customer orders, handle material identification tagging, and liaise with suppliers to resolve any CoA-related issues. Part of your role also involves supporting the quality team in investigating customer complaints and returned materials, ensuring all quality concerns are addressed effectively.

On the manufacturing floor, you will conduct routine line audits and floor inspections, enforcing compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and safety guidelines. You'll execute Quality Control checks and assist with inquiries and problems relating to product acceptance criteria, tagging and segregating non-conforming materials, and initiating hold procedures to prevent defective products from reaching customers. Collaborating directly with machine operators and supervisors, you will assess quality defects, support internal audits, and foster a culture of continuous improvement around quality standards.

This position requires an individual who is not only detail-oriented and organized but also possesses strong problem-solving skills and effective communication abilities. You will be an integral part of a team focused on maintaining and elevating quality performance across all facets of production. This role is suited for someone who thrives in both independent and collaborative work environments and is committed to contributing to a company renowned for its material science expertise and product reliability.
