This full-time position is for a Quality Assurance Specialist at Pelco Solutions, requiring individuals who have experience in quality assurance within a manufacturing environment. The role involves performing routine measurements on raw materials, in-process components, and final assemblies while supporting qualification and validation testing, including calibrations. The QA Specialist will be an integral member of the internal audit team and will assist in the development and review of quality assurance-related documents and work instructions. They will also practice and implement processes and procedures aligned with ISO 9001 standards, ensuring compliance and fostering continuous improvement. The work schedule is structured as four 10-hour days, Tuesday through Friday, from 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Additionally, new employees will receive a $500 sign-on bonus after 90 days of employment.
The responsibilities of this role span a wide range of quality assurance activities, including performing inspections at various production stages such as receiving, in-process, first article, and final inspections. The candidate must be proficient in associating drawings with inspection data and handling non-conformances within the ERP system. Support for return merchandise authorization (RMA) activities and production quality checks is also a fundamental part of this role. Furthermore, the candidate will participate in internal audits and corrective and preventive action initiatives, including root cause analysis and recommending corrective measures. The role also supports lean manufacturing principles, theory of constraints, and continuous improvement efforts to optimize production throughput and quality.
The ideal candidate will possess strong attention to detail, effective communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Proficiency with measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, thread gauges, and hardness testers is essential, along with computer literacy, particularly with Microsoft Office applications. A proactive approach to quality assurance, combined with a commitment to safety, accuracy, and continuous learning, is vital for success in this role. The position involves standing for extended periods and occasional lifting of up to 40 pounds, with specific personal protective equipment requirements for safety. Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2-3 years of quality assurance experience with a manufacturing company
- effective written and verbal communication skills with internal and external customers
- ability to read and interpret operation sheets, production flow documentation, and basic engineering drawings
- basic proficiency with measurement tools including calipers, micrometers, thread gauges, hardness testers, and coating thickness gauges
- computer literacy including data entry, file navigation, and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)

Job Duties
- Follow established inspection, testing, manufacturing, and safety procedures
- perform receiving, in-process, first article, and final inspections of parts and assemblies
- record and maintain inspection results
- associate drawings with applicable dimensional inspection data and process non-conformances in the ERP system
- support RMA activities, including inspection and evaluation of products for warranty qualification
- develop and maintain tools to track product and process non-conformances affecting quality and throughput
- conduct internal audits and participate in corrective and preventive action (CAPA) activities, including root cause analysis and corrective action recommendations
- identify, monitor, and report quality trends, risks, and recurring issues
- assist with production quality checks and train production personnel on quality requirements and procedures
- support lean manufacturing, theory of constraints, and continuous improvement initiatives
- ensure compliance with ISO 9001
- maintain reliable attendance and work overtime as required to meet business needs
