This job opportunity is focused on a leadership quality role within Schaeffler. The position involves driving quality assurance initiatives across projects, specifically emphasizing automotive industry standards and launch activities. The role includes developing and updating quality guidelines, managing quality-related sub-projects, coordinating with various key stakeholders such as plant, customer, and supplier quality teams, and leading audits and inspections internally and externally. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with PPAP requirements, maintaining certification documentation, and collaborating closely with staff and management to provide quality-related advice and training.

The role also demands leadership in project quality assurance strategy, auditing processes, problem-solving quality issues, and supporting the quality team engineers and trainees. Essential to this position is the ability to align with customer quality expectations and manage quality reporting and KPIs, thereby playing a critical role in protecting Schaeffler’s standards and achieving cost of quality objectives. The employment type is full-time, and the position requires authorization to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship. Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering related field
  • min. 5 years of experience in quality domain in automotive industry
  • strong demonstrated knowledge of fullcycle automotive quality process
  • previous experience with launch relevant activities e.g., internal/external APQP, PPAP etc.
  • Six Sigma green belt certified
  • experience with multiple software programs including Minitab, MS Office, SAP, and various CAD programs
  • excellent communication skills written and verbal
  • authorized to work in the United States without employment visa or other sponsorship

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Develop and update guidelines, methods and processes, and provide instructions to organizations for proper application
  • lead the quality topics within project as the quality sub-project manager and coordinate with all relevant quality stakeholders
  • lead launch activities from quality front to ensure all PPAP requirements are met
  • lead internal and external inspections and/or audits and provide respective documentation
  • maintain documentation needed for certification and carry out external QM reporting for official authorities
  • collaborate with and provide advice to staff and management in QM-related topics and provide relevant training
  • coordinate with customers to align and understand quality requirements and ensure they are fulfilled
  • support quality manager in estimating the investment needed to ensure quality requirements are met
  • develop and implement project quality assurance strategy and schedule
  • ensure internal processes are adhered to within the project through conducting audits and communicating status to management
  • support and train the new engineers and trainees within quality team
  • lead all launch relevant activities e.g., internal/external APQPs, PPAP, etc.
  • ensure PFMEA and control plans are completed on time and review
  • lead problem solving for all internal and customer reported issues
  • ensure the quality operating system is robust and protects Schaeffler from shipping non-conforming material to the customer
  • analyze, file and report on all quality-related KPIs to BU management
  • external applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without employment visa or other sponsorship
