Job Description

Vander-Bend is a U.S.-based manufacturer specializing in precision infrastructure essential for powering the advancements of tomorrow's artificial intelligence technologies. The company focuses on creating high-quality server racking and power delivery solutions that serve as the backbone for next-generation data centers. These data centers support hyperscalers and integrators worldwide, allowing them to innovate and scale their operations. Vander-Bend is deeply committed to domestic manufacturing excellence, ensuring that its products deliver exceptional quality, speed, and innovation. This dedication to reshaping AI infrastructure underscores the company’s role as a key player in the tech manufacturing sector.

As a newly established division of Vantedge Medical, Vander-Bend brings a wealth of expertise from the medical technology manufacturing domain. Vantedge Medical is recognized as a premier metals-based med-tech solutions partner, offering services that span from early concept development to full-scale manufacturing. This association highlights Vander-Bend's strong foundation in advanced manufacturing processes and its commitment to technological advancement. The company not only pursues excellence in its products but also fosters a collaborative and enjoyable work environment where employees are encouraged to take pride in their contributions.

The Quality Inspector II position at Vander-Bend is a full-time, permanent onsite role during the day shift. The role offers an hourly wage ranging from $28 to $35, reflecting the importance of quality assurance in the company’s operations. The Quality Inspector II plays a crucial role in maintaining the high standards that Vander-Bend upholds in its manufacturing processes, particularly within the Sheet Metal and Machining divisions. The inspector is responsible for performing in-process and lot inspections, as well as producing and compiling comprehensive quality reports that ensure product conformance to specifications.

Key responsibilities include inspecting incoming materials, such as plating and custom-made parts, using precise measuring tools and test equipment. The inspector also evaluates first-piece in-process products and conducts lot inspections before products advance to the next manufacturing stage. This role requires a keen eye for detail, the ability to identify deviations from standards, and the capacity to communicate effectively with operators about deviations and corrective actions. Additionally, the Quality Inspector II will train and mentor trainee inspectors, enhancing overall team competency and maintaining consistency in inspection processes.

An important aspect of this role is the integration of inspection results into the company’s digital systems, specifically the Shopfloor Software connected to the Visual Manufacturing system. This ensures that data is accurately recorded and accessible for ongoing quality management. The inspector will also support the Director of Quality in maintaining ISO 13485 and 9001 certifications, critical for compliance and quality assurance in manufacturing. The role occasionally involves undertaking additional responsibilities assigned by the Quality Manager for the Sheet Metal division.

Candidates for this position should have a minimum of five years of inspection experience in a metal fabrication environment, demonstrating familiarity with various measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and test indicators, alongside calibration procedures. A solid understanding of mathematics and the ability to read and interpret blueprints are essential. Familiarity with quality management systems and inspection methodologies, including plating and painting processes, is required. Computer literacy and proficiency in English communication, both written and verbal, are also necessary to perform effectively in this role.

Vander-Bend’s Quality Inspector II opportunity offers a blend of technical challenge, professional growth, and a supportive workplace culture. This position is ideal for professionals who are meticulous, skilled in quality assurance, and eager to contribute to the cutting-edge field of AI infrastructure manufacturing. By joining Vander-Bend, employees become part of a forward-thinking company dedicated to innovation, quality, and the advancement of technology manufacturing in a domestic setting.
