Joby Aviation is currently seeking a Quality Engineering Technician to join their dynamic Quality Engineering team. This role is critical to ensuring that all complex parts and assemblies meet stringent engineering specifications and tolerances through meticulous inspection practices. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in metrology, dimensional inspection, quality control techniques, and be adept at collaborating with both engineering and manufacturing teams to troubleshoot and resolve dimensional issues. Operating within a highly skilled and proactive team, the Quality Engineering Technician will contribute to the integrity and reliability of Joby's revolutionary aircraft components. This position offers a competitive compensation package with target base pay ranging from $31 to $47 per hour, complemented by Restricted Stock Units (RSUs) and a broad suite of employee benefits. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED plus at least 2 years of on-the-job experience in a related discipline
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a quality or metrology role utilizing 3D measurement devices
- Fundamental understanding of GD&T and ability to interpret mechanical drawings
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Perform inspection of parts and assemblies using 3D measurement devices such as CMM, Laser Tracker and/or other devices as well as conventional hardware (calipers, gauges, etc.)
- Create measurement programs using PolyWorks software
- Provide, review, and analyze data and output reports
- Review drawings and provide design feedback for Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Drive improvements in part and assembly dimensional accuracy through tooling maintenance, calibration, and improvements
- Execute trials in support of investigations and measurement system analysis
- Collaborate with engineers and quality control personnel to identify and resolve dimensional issues
- Responsible for performing job duties in a manner consistent with established Joby Policies and Procedures
