Founded on a commitment to innovation and quality, Busch Vacuum Solutions operates state-of-the-art production facilities and maintains a strong presence in key international markets. This company is well-known for leveraging advanced engineering technologies to deliver reliable, efficient, and cutting-edge vacuum technology solutions tailored to customer needs. With a focus on sustainable growth, Busch Vacuum Solutions fosters an inclusive corporate culture that embraces diversity and encourages professional development and continuous improvement among employees.

Located in Chesapeake, Virginia, the Regional Distribution Center (RDC) of Busch Vacuum Solutions is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer for a fully onsite role. The position operates during regular business hours – Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM ET – with some flexibility required to meet business and operational demands. The Quality Engineer is integral to upholding and advancing quality standards throughout all aspects of the company’s products, manufacturing processes, supplier relationships, and customer interactions. This role serves as a strategic partner to departments including operations, engineering, supply chain, suppliers, and customers. Responsibilities encompass the development and implementation of quality assurance protocols, conducting thorough audits, analyzing quality data using statistical methodologies, and leading root cause investigations to resolve quality issues effectively.

The Quality Engineer will also work collaboratively on continuous improvement initiatives targeting manufacturing, distribution, and service processes to enhance efficiency and operational excellence. Engaging with suppliers to monitor and resolve quality concerns is a vital aspect of this role, alongside providing technical support to promptly resolve customer quality issues. This includes maintaining up-to-date quality documentation compliant with ISO 9001 standards, preparing and presenting detailed quality reports and audit findings for management review, and mentoring employees on quality management principles and best practices. The role demands a continuous improvement mindset, strong problem-solving capabilities, and an ability to navigate and influence cross-functional teams.

The ideal candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related technical field with at least five years of experience in quality or manufacturing engineering within a production environment. Proficiency in quality management systems, ISO 9001 standards, root cause analysis techniques, corrective and preventative actions (CAPA), and statistical quality tools is essential. Experience with ERP systems, especially SAP, and certifications such as Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Certified Quality Manager (CQM) are highly preferred.

Applicants must be able to pass a comprehensive drug screen and criminal background check, and be capable of wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE). Occasionally, up to 10% travel including domestic and international trips may be necessary. The work environment is a combination of climate-controlled office space and warehouse areas, requiring frequent standing, walking, and communication. The company emphasizes safety and accessibility, providing reasonable accommodations for qualified individuals.

Working at Busch Vacuum Solutions offers a competitive benefits package including medical, dental, vision insurance, employee assistance programs, tuition reimbursement, legal plans, 401K, paid time off, and access to a supportive career advancement culture that values internal promotion and professional growth. This role represents an exciting opportunity for a motivated quality professional to make a significant impact on product and process quality within a leading industrial manufacturing organization situated in the Hampton Roads area.
