Job Description

Oldcastle, a CRH company, is a leading provider of innovative building solutions specializing in precast concrete, polymer concrete, and plastic infrastructure products. Operating within North America, Oldcastle serves a diverse array of markets, including outdoor living, water, energy, and communications, catering to engineers, contractors, distributors, specifiers, retailers, and homeowners. As part of the CRH family, Oldcastle benefits from a rich heritage of family businesses and enterprises that combine the intimacy of a small company environment with the broad opportunities of a major international corporation. This structure fosters an inclusive culture that values growth, development, and internal promotions, making it an attractive destination for professionals seeking career advancement within the building and infrastructure industry.

The Quality Coordinator (Night Shift) position within the Architectural Products Group in White Marsh, Maryland, is a critical role aimed at maintaining and ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety compliance for Oldcastle's dry-mix concrete products at the plant level. This role involves rigorous testing of products and raw materials following ASTM standards, inspection, and process adherence to guarantee the functionality and safety of all manufactured products. It requires close collaboration across departments to support routine quality checks, prepare samples for sales, and ensure compliance with environmental health and safety (EH&S) regulations. This position emphasizes attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and a strong commitment to workplace safety and product excellence.

Employees in this role will routinely engage in product formulation testing, quality inspections, and reporting duties to both Oldcastle management and applicable regulatory agencies. The coordinator oversees activities around plant equipment and processes to verify safe operations during the night shift. The position demands physical endurance for standing extended periods and performing light to moderate manual tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 80-95 pounds with assistance. This hands-on requirement underscores the importance of teamwork and adherence to safety standards.

The role offers competitive hourly wages of $21 to $24, commensurate with experience, alongside comprehensive benefits including 401(k) retirement savings plans, short-term and long-term disability insurance, life insurance, health, dental, and vision coverage, as well as paid time off and holidays. Oldcastle encourages individuals who are detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and motivated to ensure quality and safety compliance to pursue this opportunity. Experience in lab testing, manufacturing environments, and safety programs enhances candidacy but is not mandatory, as the company supports learning and development within the position. This is a full-time night shift role that plays a vital part in upholding Oldcastle's reputation as an industry leader in innovative building solutions.
