The position available is for a Quality Control Technician I, an essential role within the quality assurance team responsible for the collection, handling, and tracking of raw materials and packaging component samples. This role acts as the gatekeeper for all samples coming into and leaving the facility, requiring meticulous attention to detail and effective coordination with multiple departments such as shipping, receiving, and various quality control units. This full-time role offers an hourly pay range between $25.91 and $29.81, with shift flexibility that may include weekends and holidays to support manufacturing processes.

As a Quality Control Technician I, the incumbent will be involved in pulling and retaining samples critical to product quality evaluation, verifying container labels and associated documentation for accuracy, as well as performing specific physical and identification tests on raw materials and packaging components. An important part of this position is maintaining accurate electronic tracking records and ensuring adherence to company SOPs and environmental regulations. The technician will also manage the inventory of supplies necessary for sampling and testing activities.

Candidates for this role should be prepared for an active work environment that involves frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting items over 10 pounds, and other physical activities. Effective verbal and written communication are key, as the technician will regularly correspond with various departments to resolve issues, clarify processes, and ensure sample quality. No supervisory responsibilities are associated with this position, making it ideal for individuals eager to grow within quality control without immediate management duties. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum 1 year manufacturing environment experience
  • knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and current Good Documentation Practices (cGDP)
  • ability to handle physical demands including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing
  • ability to lift or move items over 10 pounds
  • effective verbal and written communication skills

Job Duties

  • Pull products, retains, raw material samples as required
  • ensure all sample handling activities are performed according to applicable SOPs and cGMP requirements
  • interact with the shipping/receiving department in the facility warehouse
  • inspect all incoming raw material containers and verify accurate label information, lot numbers and associated paperwork
  • test for physical measurement of packaging components and conduct specific identification tests of various raw materials
  • maintain electronic tracking of product retain samples and archive records
  • handle non-hazardous, hazardous and DEA waste according to environmental regulations and company/departmental procedures
  • help maintain inventory of glassware, chemicals and materials needed for sampling and testing
  • communicate professionally and quickly with numerous departments regarding samples, process, questions, and issues
  • review documentation for completeness and accuracy
  • perform sampling, examination, review, and release of packaging components
  • work shifts in support of the manufacturing process including weekends and holidays as needed
  • perform other related projects and duties as assigned by management
