The role of Instrument QC Technician 1 at Neogen is crucial within the company’s quality assurance and instrumentation departments. This position focuses on routine testing and calibration of Neogen’s food safety instrumentation to ensure compliance with the highest performance standards. The technician plays a hands-on role in maintaining the integrity of testing equipment, preparing installation and validation protocols that meet regulatory and internal standards, and compiling detailed validation data for reporting and continuous improvement. Additionally, the Instrument QC Technician 1 collaborates closely with technical support teams by providing equipment evaluations and troubleshooting product issues to enhance performance and customer satisfaction.
This position requires adherence to Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and ISO guidelines in daily activities, highlighting the company’s commitment to quality and regulatory compliance. Job Requirements
- Minimum high school diploma
- Associate degree in computer, electronics or QC-related field preferred
- Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
- Ability to stand, walk and sit frequently
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds
- Willingness to adhere to GLP and ISO guidelines
- Good communication skills in English
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Job Qualifications
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, work instructions, standard operating procedures, and other procedural documents in English
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and to speak effectively in front of team members and in general group meetings
- Solid knowledge of computers and OS systems
- Experience with ERP and CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite preferred
- Ability to perform routine mathematical operations including some basic statistical analysis
- Understanding of metric system and metric to English conversions

Job Duties
- Performs routine testing on testing equipment to ensure they meet quality standards
- Performs calibration of instrumentation
- Ensures quality product is returned to customers after repairs
- Compiles detailed quality paperwork
- Ensures that Neogen CRM and ERP system entries for Instrumentation department repairs are properly updated and cases are closed in timely manner
- Participates in brainstorming sessions to streamline routine activities/troubleshoot manufacturing and QC issues
- Adheres to GLP/ISO guidelines in daily activities
- Other duties as may be assigned by Manager
