STS Technical Services is currently seeking a Quality Control Technician for a full-time, first-shift position located in Brookfield, Wisconsin. This opportunity supports Trace-A-Matic, a precision manufacturing company renowned for producing complex precision-machined components with a strong emphasis on delivering high-quality customer service. Trace-A-Matic maintains a clean, safe, and supportive work environment that encourages employee growth on both personal and professional levels.
As a Quality Control Technician, you will play an essential role in upholding Trace-A-Matic’s commitment to quality by inspecting products, materials, and production processes to ensure full compliance with company, customer, and regulatory quality standards. This position requires a detail-driven professional with manufacturing inspection experience, strong blueprint reading skills, and the acuity to verify conformance to detailed drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
The position involves performing dimensional, visual, and functional testing, using a variety of precise measuring and testing equipment. Documentation and accurate record-keeping in quality management systems are critical to this role to support quality analysis, defect identification, and continuous improvement initiatives. In addition, the Quality Control Technician supports cross-functional collaboration among production, engineering, and management teams to address and resolve product or process quality issues.

Job Requirements
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications and work instructions
- Knowledge of quality inspection methods and measurement techniques
- Proficiency with inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges and measuring instruments
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office
- Experience with quality management software
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in engineering required
- Equivalent technical degrees may be considered
- 2 or more years of quality experience required
- Manufacturing or related field experience is a plus
- Epicor experience is a plus
- 1factory experience is a plus
- No licenses or certificates required
Job Duties
- Perform inspections of raw materials, in-process products and finished goods according to established quality standards
- Conduct dimensional, visual and functional testing using measuring and testing equipment
- Record inspection and test results accurately in quality management systems and reports
- Identify, document and communicate non-conforming products or processes
- Assist in root cause investigations and corrective action activities
- Monitor production processes to ensure compliance with specifications and procedures
- Assist in maintaining calibration records
- Ensure inspection equipment is properly maintained
- Review production documentation for completeness and accuracy
- Support internal and external audits as required
- Collaborate with production, engineering and management teams to resolve quality issues
- Follow all safety, environmental and company policies and procedures
